Sending heartfelt condolences to the entire Costigan family.
When Gerard phoned me last week and told me that he was in the hospital, my heart broke for him and his family.
I knew he was sick for quite a while, sure though that he would beat it, knowing his stubbornness to give in. He would
not let sickness keep him down and kept his positive outlook on his life aside from his illness.

I am grateful to Gerard that he allowed me the opportunity to say goodbye to him. He sent love to his Son and my
family as he always did whenever I spoke with him or seen him. Although Gerard was not close to his Son, due to
life's circumstances, he was always a responsible Parent and loved him dearly.

Although we were only together for what in the grand scheme of things would be classified as a moment in time,
from the beginning we were like magnets to each other that never lost their charge though all the years.
Gerard was, and will forever be, the Love of My Life. Love is nothing you can control, it just is.
I will dearly miss his voice, that whenever I heard it would put butterflies in my stomach. I will miss looking into his eyes,
feeling his hugs, and telling him that, "He's the Best!".

I have no words that can convey the deep sadness I feel for his family, knowing how close they all were. My prayer for
them is that the happy moments they shared together throughout the years, in time, will be a comfort for them to reflect upon.

I am confident that Gerard is up in Heaven driving his big truck with a smile on his face and flashing his signature peace
sign to passers by.

With Eternal Love...
Monica Ramler :(

Gerard was such a lovely man. We played soccer together for many years. Although we played on different teams, those games together were always a pleasure. Gerard will be missed greatly by all his team mates in Innisfill and everyone in the league whose lives he touched. Rest In Peace my friend.
Malcolm.

Thank you so much to the Barrie Soccer Club for all your heartfelt condolences to our brother Gerard! Gerards passion was soccer when he wasn’t working. If he wasn’t playing he was watching it on tv. Thank you to each and every one of you for your love and support through Gerards illness and in passing. It makes our hearts happy knowing how much he loved this sport. The day before Gerard passed, he was was sedated but found the strength to show my brother and I bruises that he had down the side of his leg and on his knee from recent game that he played. Gerard was very proud of the sport he played only a short time before he lost his battle to cancer. Thank you on behalf of the Costigan family for being such a huge piece of Gerards life all these years! Xoxo⚽️⚽️
